AVPA accreditation provides members with an ideal opportunity to gain formal industry recognition and acknowledgement of their skills and professionalism as a video producer.
AVPA accreditation plays a significant role in enhancing member’s businesses.
Only AVPA accredited members are permitted to use the AVPA name and logo in their advertising and promotional materials. This provides potential clients with added confidence in the capabilities and professionalism of accredited AVPA members.
AVPA accreditation is available for two categories:
Each category offers three levels of accreditation:
The accreditation process incorporates four key areas of assessment, each of which accounts for a maximum of 25% of the total assessment score. These categories are:
- Concept and Creativity
- Camera Skill
- Editing Ability
- Technical Quality

Member Accreditation
- Only financial members and associates are eligible to apply for and/or hold AVPA accreditation
- The applicant must submit a VHS/DVD copy of the completed work for assessment as it was presented to the client. This work will be assessed as a typical sample of the applicant’s work and ability
- Show reels and modified works will not accepted or considered for accreditation
- Member Accreditation requires a minimum assessment level of >55% as a basic assessment of the applicant’s production skills.
Advanced Accreditation
- After three consecutive years, financial accredited members can apply for ‘Advanced Accreditation’.
- ‘Advanced Accreditation’ requires a minimum assessment level of >75%
- Three samples of completed programs must be submitted for consideration in the ‘Advanced Accreditation’ process. These programs should demonstrate a variety of subject, concept and style.
Master Accreditation
- After five consecutive years, financial members holding ‘Advanced Accreditation’ can apply for ‘Master Accreditation’.
- ‘Master Accreditation’ requires a minimum assessment level of >90%
- Five samples of completed programs must be submitted for consideration in the ‘Master Accreditation’ process. These programs should demonstrate a variety of subject, concept and style.
Accreditation Costs
- Member Accreditation: $27.50
- Advanced Accreditation: $55.00
- Master Accreditation: $110.00

- Successful applicants will be issued an ‘Accreditation Certificate’ for display in their studio
- These ‘Accreditation Certificates’ remain the property of the AVPA and will be revoked in the event that the member becomes ‘unfinancial’, breaches AVPA guidelines, or acts in a manner likely to bring the AVPA and/or its members into disrepute.
- In the event that an ‘Accreditation Certificate’ is revoked, the individual/organisation concerned must cease immediately to use or refer to the AVPA name, logo or accreditation in all forms of advertising and/or marketing activities, including print, electronic and/or verbal.
- Tapes, disks and other materials submitted for assessment will not be returned.
